It sounded just like it would sound if they had broken out singing in real life. You could understand them, their voices were affected by the emotions of their characters. I liked that none of the actors in the movie did a "perfect" job they're supposed to be human characters. The parts that were "weak" in some people's eye I only saw as emotion added to the character.
